Continental Gas Association Long Service Medal Engraved on the reverse: 25 Years Service Arthur Lucas 1880-1905 A very impressive, 3.5cm diameter, silver medal. The Imperial Continental Gas Association was founded in London, in 1824, by Sir Moses Montefiore, to provide gas facilities outside the United Kingdom. During the 19th and 20th centuries it provided gas supplies in Germany, Belgium, Holland and other European countries. The company traded until 1987. |

Hood 1909-34 An impressive, 3cm diameter, h/m silver medal by Thomas Fattorini, of Birmingham on its original ribbon, with ornate "25 Years Service" pin suspender. Bournemouth Water was established in 1863. The company also supplied gas until nationalisation of the gas industry in 1949. |

& Company Long Service Medal Engraved on the reverse: 25 Years Elisa Frances Boardman A very impressive, 4cm diameter, silver medal in its original presentation case - this is damaged. Samuel Jones & Company was founded in London in 1810, as stationery suppliers. In 1905 the company started producing non-curling gummed paper on printed sheets, an innovative product used for postage stamps. The company expanded and by the 1920s was one of the major employers in the (Peckham) area. By 1961, the company has over 2,700 employees. In the 1980s, the business became part of the Wiggins Teape Group, but has recently (2010) been re-launched as an independent company - Samuel Jones UK Limited. |
