John Shea was born at Cork, Ireland, in May 1877 and was a labourer when he enlisted in October 1896. He served on various ships during a long career in the Royal Navy, including "HMS Arrogant", "HMS Bulwark", "HMS Leander", "HMS Repulse" and "HMS Cumberland". Ambrose Arthur Biggs was born at Frome, Somerset, in April 1894 and was a gardener when he enlisted in January 1913. He served on various ships during a long career in the Royal Navy, including "HMS Leander", "HMS Delhi", "HMS Resolution" and "HMS Queen Elizabeth". He was still serving in 1929.

The medal has an MiD oak leaf emblem
Philip Percy Allen was born in London in 1896 and joined the Army in January 1916. He transferred to the Royal Flying Corps, whilst serving in Egypt, in March 1917. He continued to serve in Egypt (as an Armourer with No. 113 Squadron) until September 1919, having transferred to the RAF on the 1st April 1918. He transferred to the Reserve shortly after returning to the UK. His Papers confirm the MiD - effective date 22nd January 1919.

Reginald Herbert Chant was born at West Chinnock, Somerset in 1889 and was a carpenter/joiner when he joined the Royal Flying Corps in November 1915. He served in France from November 1916 until February 1919, having transferred to the RAF on the 1st April 1918.

Morgan William Parry was born in December 1884 and joined the South Wales Borderers (27496) in December 1915. He transferred to the RFC on the 26th July 1916 and to the RAF (as an AM 1) on the 1st April 1918. He served as an 'Aero Rigger' until the 10th January 1919. He was released to the Reserve on the 7th February 1919 and finally discharged on the 30th April 1920.

Archibald Pill was born in 1886 and had already served with the Devonshire Regiment (45142) and Labour Corps (101748) before joining the RFC (in France) on the 24th December 1917. He served in France as an 'Aero Rigger' until the 25th January 1919, having been transferred to the RAF (as an AM 3) on the 1st April 1918. He was released to the Reserve on the 20th February 1919.

Charles Foxon joined the RFC (from the army) on the 26th October 1917 and was posted to France the following month. He served in France until the 8th March 1919, having transferred to the RAF on the 1st April 1918. He was released to the Reserve on the 18th April 1919.               One ek., otherwise
